U.S. New Home Sales Fell 2.3% In August

(For August 2011)

U.S. new home sales fell 2.3% to 295.000 SAAR; Consensus was  at 293.000 SAAR, prior reading (revised upward 4.000) was at 301.000 SAAR.

New home month of supply rose from 6.5 to 6.6 months. Backlog of unsold new homes is at 162.000.
