U.S. Consumer Price Index Rose 0.4% In January

(For January 2011)

U.S. consumer price index rose 0.4% in January vs. 0.3% consensus and December reading of 0.5%. On year level CPI inflation is running at 1.7%.

Consumer price index less food & energy came at 0.2%. December reading was at 0.1%.The consensus was also at 0.1%. On year level CPI core inflation is running at 0.9%.

Rise in commodity prices is slowly pushing CPI higher.
