U.S. Producer Price Index Rose 1.1% In December

(For December 2010)

U.S. producer price index rose 1.1% in December vs. 0.8% consensus. November reading was also at 0.8%. On year level PPI is up 4.1%.

Food & energy taken out U.S. producer price index rose 0.2% in December; consensus was also at 0.2%; prior reading was at 0.3%. On year level core PPI is up 1.4%.

Looks like FED is getting its way – succeeding in producing inflation.
